If a member of advisory board does not receive for certain period of time requested information from the management, he/she should be obliged to request to call the general meeting that would solve the problem with the board of directors (management) of the company serving public interest.

Political promise to solve the problem

The Ministry of Finance together with non-profit organizations tries to start the preparation of the proposal of the law on nominations to supervisory boards of enterprises providing services of public interest. Efforts to solve this issue can also be found in the Senate.

Although the legislative intention to prepare a law on selection of persons to management and supervisory (controlling) boards of companies with shareholding interest of the state does not deal with the issue when the member of the supervisory board does not receive the requested information from the management of such company, the issue of wider and better access of state representatives in supervisory boards of those state-owned enterprises begins to be discussed.
