The Act on conflict of interest does not require from public officials submission of evidence of the information contained in their declarations of honour. The proposed amendment of the Act, on conflict of interest, which is in the Upper Chamber of the Parliament deals with this issue only partially by creating a possibility for citizens to announce facts which are not in accordance with the information indicated by politicians in their declaration of honour and the obligation of public authorities to compare the information contained in the declarations with the information stored in the information systems to which they have access.
