The issue of setting limits to the amount of public funds or contracts which a certain natural person could benefit from via companies which he/she controls so that a state capture of individual state and public institutions by those persons could not occur is currently not being solved.

The law is in force

The amendment of the Act on conflict of interest which entered into force in 2017 requires that a politician or other public official may not own more than a 25 % interest in a company which receives public contracts or other subsidies from public budgets. The constitutional conformity of this rule is under the scrutiny of the Constitutional court.
